Roughborough Copse

Early-attested site in the Parish of Fifield

Etymology

Roughborough Copse (6″). Cf. Rowborough c. 1840TA . It is not safe to base an etymology on modern forms, but the topography gives full support to the obvious derivation, 'rough hill': v. rūh , be(o)rg.
