Etymology

Mickle Well (6″) is Michelewellehul 13th AD iv, Mikelwell in Welton 1409 AD iv, 'Big spring,' v. micel , wielle . Morton (306) describes this spring as coming forth from a 'Perpendicular Fissure, Four Inches in Depth, and 12 in Width.'
