Etymology

Nash Mills is Asshemulle t. Ed 1StAlbansO , 1384 Gesta, Naysshemylle 1437Ct , Nasshe Mylle 1549 Pat and was probably the home of Lawrence atte Nasshe (1382Ct ). This is from ME  atten ashe , 'at the ash,' v. æt and cf. Napsbury infra 95.
