Etymology
Kitchen Wood (6″). Cf. Kechene (s )feld 1198, 1207 FF, Cuchenesfeld 1207 ib. OE cycen and feld. This place is mentioned with the 'land of the Monks of Hame (i.e. West Ham)' and Cowbridge, which was part of the possessions of Stratford Langthorne Abbey. Cf. Kitchen Hall supra 37.
