Etymology

Probably OE  Plyccean-denu , 'Plycca 's valley,' v. denu . This pers. name, otherwise unknown, is derived from OE  plycc (e )an , 'to pluck, pull, snatch.' v. NEDs. v. plitch . The unmutated Plucca is found in LVD and must have had the same sense. Cf. Pluckley (PN K 393).
