Etymology

Probably 'Cemmi's hill', v. hyll ; for the OE  pers.n. *Cemmi , a pet-form of Ceolmǣr , cf. Chimsworthy (PN D 174–5), Kempsey (PN Wo 144) and Kempston Nf. Cf. also Marvel Stones infra 160.
