Etymology

The ecclesiastical parish of Shotwick contained the townships 1. Capenhurst (part now included in Ellesmere Port c.p.), 2. Great Saughall (now included with Little Saughall in Saughall c.p.), 3. Little Saughall (cf. prec.), 4. Shotwick, 5. Woodbank. Shotwick Park 210infra may have been in this parish originally.
