Coppenhall

Etymology
The parish of Coppenhall contained two townships, 1. Church Coppenhall, 2. Monks Coppenhall. It was originally a chapelry of Wybunbury parish, and became a separate parish in 1373 (Orm2 iii326). The whole is now included in Monks Coppenhall c.p., which comprises the municipal borough of Crewe 26infra .
