The parish of Brereton contained one township, Brereton cum Smethwick, and was originally part of Astbury parish 285infra , from which it was separated t. R1, v. Orm2 i400, iii 81, 92. It is not noted in Tax. The modern c.p. of Brereton includes Davenport 301infra .
