, The Pools 1842TA . TA has Pool names extending E . along R . Roden, including Duck Pool , Rushy Pool and Swanwicks Pool . Garbet1818 says “ the pool lands , about two miles in compass , all pasture ground , in the winter much exposed to floods ” . Cf. Wem Pooles , Poole Meadow , Two Pool Peeces 1699SBL 3411 : a note by E . W . Bowcock on the slip for these says “ The Pools is a district about a mile from Wem , now drained , but formerly under water to a great extent . Even now is like a lake in wet times . ”
