The 1833 OS map marks Lower and Upper Moat . The Moat is at Moat Fm , which corresponds to Upper Moat . The 6 ″ map shows nothing corresponding to Lower Moat ( which is by Meoles Meadow Plantation ) , and there is no building here on TAMap . VCH VIII 162 says the house at Moat Fm is first recorded in m. 14th , when it was occupied by a son of the lord of the manor , v. Park in f. ns . infra .
