, The Castle Farme 1700 Gough . Hey , note to Plate 6 , says that the Lord of Myddle was given licence to build the castle in 1308 , and the building was allowed to go to ruin in the early 16th cent. Eyton , X 67 , says the remains of the castellated mansion are still to be seen .
