Historical Forms

  • Crookkills 1788 Kings

Etymology

( 6 ″ ) is Crookkills 1788Kings . It may be that this was the earlier name of the neighbouring Windmill Hill , a prominent , rounded hill . If so , we probably have Brit cruc , ' hill , ' as in Crooksbury (PN Sr 170) .
