, Castlestead 1859OS , cf. una roda desuper castellum c. 1250 Bart 346 , le Castelflat 1260Lowth , ' site of a fortification ' , v. castel , stede ; the remains of the site are at grid 83 – 519241 ; this was probably the castellum de Lauuedra 1174 Fantosme 157 , and is possibly a medieval peel - tower or the like ( cf. RCHM 160 ) .
