, 1857OS , described in 1777 NB 208 as the ' ruins of an ancient round building now called Kirkstead , which is said to have been a temple dedicated to Diana ' ; the name is , however , one usually given by earlier antiquaries to ancient or artificial ruins ( cf. Dinnes Temple Well YW i, 34 ) .
