Etymology
( 6 ″ ) is near the junction of the parishes of Barrington , Orwell and Harlton . It is named from the old Orwell maypole which “ until 1870 stood in a clump of fir trees on the hill west of the road , the old Akeman Street ” ( Hughes , Cambridgeshire 244 ) .
