. Cf. Langeneyefeld 1360Cole iv , Langley Wood c. 1840TA . The land is not low - lying , so if Langeneye is correct , it must stand for earlier Langenhey , ' long enclosure ' ( v. (ge)hæg ) , rather than Langeney , ' longmarshy land ' ( v. ēg ) .
