Etymology

v. Effingham infra 102. In an Assize Roll t. Ed 1, the meeting-place is said to have been at Lethe Croyce (VCH iii, 320). In a Survey of 1651 the court leet of the two Hundreds of Effingham and Copthorne is said to have been at Leithepitt .
