Etymology
( 6 ″ ) . Cf. Sewellmede 1333 Ipm , Sewelle Mede 1353 ib . The name may be identical with Seawell infra 40 . Bridges ( i , 64 ) mentions it as Seywell , along with a Bryesland Spring . The latter must be for ' St Bride's land spring , ' cf. Seyntebridewell (1330Ass ) .
