This is the name of the way which follows the line of the scarp slope of the Wolds from South Ferriby southwards to Caistor and is recorded from a number of parishes . It is an ancient ridgeway , and according to Margary 240 “ it was clearly used for Roman traffic ” . From Caistor to Horncastle it is known as High Street .
