, v. loge ; at the western extremity of the parish and thus presum . a ' remoteness ' name , one transferred from Botany Bay in New South Wales , Australia , where Captain James Cook landed in 1770 and where his companion , Sir Joseph Banks , collected a large variety of previously unknown plants which gave the bay its name and where , later , a penal colony was established .
