( 6 ″ ) is Stumpe cross 1579 BevRec . Cf. William at Crosse 1379 Poll . v. cros . The limits of the sanctuary of Beverley were marked by crosses on the various roads at a distance of a mile from the Minster ( cf. Sanct ) . Cf. Milecrosse 1435 HMC(Bev) on the south side of Beverley .
