Cammock Rigg

Other OS name in the Parish of Askerton

. Cf. Cammockhill 1601Survey . The first element is probably the word cammock , earlier cambok , used of a crooked staff , but deriving ultimately from the same source as Cam Beck supra 7 . It is here applied to the shape of the hill .
