There is nothing to add to the discussion of this name in Anderson (203). It means 'bean field', from bēan and ersc . The site of the meeting-place has not been located.

ersc , which is common in Sr, is found in several names in east Berkshire but has not been noted in the west of the county (v. Introd.).
