, ( manor called ) Amenerscourte 1490RentSur , Anniscourt 1515ib , Amnerscourt 1516ib , Amblers Fm 1716 Rocque, 1790 Pride,Ambers Fm 1846 Snare . It was suggested Sr 107 – 8 that this is named from the almoner of Reading Abbey , but there was a local family named Anners , whose surname could be responsible for the p.n. Robert de Anners occurs 1252–5FF in connection with land in Wokefield , and Thomas de Anners witnesses a 15th - cent. deed in ReadingC ( 2 ) ( f. 51 ) , concerned with land in Burghfield , v. court .
