Etymology

'Hollow road' (v. hol , weg ), the name presumably of the road, now represented by a series of footpaths and tracks, which runs straight north from Hollow Court past the various Hollowfields farms on to the Saltway. Its course lies low. It is just possible that it is the holanwege of BCS 1006.
