Burdens Ball (6″) is Bordonesballe juxta Fogheleston 1348Cor , Burdonesball 1395 IpmR, Burdonesballe 1402 Pat, 1412 FA, Burdensball bridge 1599 WM xxi and is to be associated with the family of Robert Burdun (1263 WIpm). Ball is ME  ball (e ), here used probably of a boundary-mark. See infra 422.
