We may perhaps compare Chesthull , Chisthull (1453MinAcct ) in the same parish.This has its parallel in Chessel (Wt), Chesthull 1228 Pat, Chusthull 1346 FA. The place lies on the border of the parish and it may be that the first element is ME  cheste , 'strife.'
