Silk Wood is Selkwode 1292Rental , 1334Ass , 1342GDR , Silkwode 1332, Silkewood 1640 WIpm. The first element here is probably the OE  personal name Seolca , hence 'Seolca 's wood.'Cf. Silkden (really Selden in Patching) in PN Sx 166.
