Hyam Fm is Heyham , Litleheiham 13th RegMalm, Hyham c. 1300Malm , Higham juxta Malmesbury 1526Ct , Greate Higham Coppes 1547 Pat, High Ham 1816 O.S. 'High ham or hamm.'The latter element is perhaps the more probable here, since the farm lies on rising ground near a big bend in the Avon.
