Eisey [aizi] is æt Esig 775–8 (11th) BCS 226, (æt ) Esege 855 (11th) ib. 487, Aisi 1086 DB, Eisi 1133 Dugd vi, Esy 1259 FF, Eysy 1314FF , 1370Ass , 1428 FA, Easy 1544SR , Eisey or Isey 1773 A and D. The second element in this name is OE  eg, ieg , 'marsh land.' The first must remain an unsolved problem.
