Etymology

Earldoms Fm and The Earldoms (6″). Cf. Earledon 1551 Pat, Thirledome 1553 Hoare, boscus voc. lez Erledome 1570 PembSurv, le Erledoms 1577Recov , Erledoune 1625 WIpm. It is so called because granted to the earl of Pembroke in the first year of his earldom (Hoare 66).
