Etymology

'East farm,' v. tun . Perhaps so named because east of Milton.Commonly known as Easton Royal , probably because the east half of the parish was in the King's forest of Savernake (H. C. B.).There was a small house of Austin Canons here, hence Prioris (G. M. Y.).
