Etymology

Clouds Ho (6″). Cf. Clowdes 1822 Hoare, Clouds Park c. 1840TA , from OE  clūd , 'rock, hill.' The ground is much broken here. Cf. Shortcloude (1412WinchColl ) in Compton Bassett, Clowd hyll (1545Deeds Enrolled ) in Easton Grey.
