Etymology

Ryvers Copse (6″) is le Ryver , la Ewre , Ewreshole 1518 Hoare and was the home of Adam de la Ryvere (1312Ass ), de la Rivere (1332SR ). Another example of OE  yfer, 'slope,' etc. (infra 450), with the ME development noted under Rivar supra 355.
