Etymology

Nolands Fm is Aldelande , Aldelond t. Hy 3 AD vi, Oldelonde 14th AD ii, Nollens 1773 A and D. 'Old land,' i.e. probably 'land out of cultivation,' cf. Yolland (PN D 465). The later and modern forms go back to ME  atten olde land , v. æt .
