Etymology

Fowlswick Fm is Fugeleswik 1231 Pat, Fuleswik 1236 FF, Foweleswyke t. Hy 3 RegMalm, Fouleswik 1273AD , 1284 RegMalm, Fouleswyk 1300 Ipm, Foleswick 1773 A and D. 'Fugol 's wic or dairy farm.' Fugol is the OE  fugol , 'bird,' here no doubt used as a personal name. Cf. Fugglestone infra 226.
