Etymology

'Farm by the river,' v. ea , tun and cf. Eton (PN Bk 236).East to distinguish it from Water Eaton infra 45. Robert de Meysy had a holding here in 1242 (Fees). For Yetton , cf. Water Yetton (infra 45).
