Slade's Fm is Slade t. Hy 2 BM, la Slade t. Ed 1Lacock , 1333 AD iv(p), le Slade 1623 WIpm, Slade livinge 1628 WM xliii.OE  slæd, 'valley,' etc., the modern s being pseudo-manorial.livinge is here used in the sense 'holding of land, tenement,' cf. Poundliving (PN D 585).
