Workway Drove (6″). Cf. Warckewee 1272 WIpm, Warekweye 1276 SarumCh, Warkweye 1485 Pat, t. Ed 3For , Workway 1773 A and D. From OE  (ge )weorc-weg , 'way or road by the stronghold.' The reference is to the camp on Knap Hill.
