Etymology

'Corpse hill or mound', v. līc , beorg , presumably a burial mound, but no trace of such a tumulus remains. The same name is repeated as Lickber (YW vi, 251), Likeberghe (i, 157supra ), and Lickeberger (i, 212 infra ).
