Ash Fell, Ashfell Hy 2 (1645) NB 518, Askef (f )ell 1224FF , 1224 (1651) BdyR (R. 1), Askfell 1671 CliffordL 152, Assfell 1684Dd .'Ash-tree hill', v. askr , fjall . It gave its name to Ash Fell, a farm in Ravenstonedale (ii, 34infra ).
