Blease Hill, Blaze Hill 1865 OS. The first el. is probably ON  blesi used topographically, as in Bleasdale (La 165) of 'a bare spot on a hillside'. The same el. appears in Blease (i, 59, 127), Blease Fell (ii, 51) and Blease Hill (i, 52infra ).
