Kellfield Grange, Kelthwayt (e )yate , Kelthwayt (e )well 1438 YD viii, Kelthwaite Field 1777EnclA 16. v. þveit 'clearing'. The first el. is uncertain, but could well be ON  kelda 'spring'.
