Cf. Seynt Katherens Crofte t. Ed 6Add .The site may be identical with Ketelesheth (1331 Dugd 675), containing as first element the Scandinavian pers. name Ketill .It may be noted that the Priory of Henwood one and a half miles to the south was founded (t. Hy 2) by Ketelbern of Longdon (Dugdale 695). The history of the name has clearly been a confused one.
