Etymology
Mackadown Fm is Mackidown c. 1830 O.S. and is probably to be identified with the DB manor of Machitone , later Makinton 1221, 1222 FF, 1221Ass , c. 1240 AD ii, 1310 Pat. 'Macca 's farm,' v. tun . The first element is the pers. name discussed under Maxstoke infra 87.
