Hazelwood Green (6″) is Heselholt 1221Ass (p), Haselholt (e )1262 ib., 1414 IpmR, 1519FF , Haselholt (e ) juxta Preston Bagot 1304Ass , Hesilholt 1301 Ipm, Esulholt 1361 IpmR, Hasulholt 1483 ib.'Hazel wood,' v. holt . “Having had its name from the situation, holt in our antient English importing a Grove of Trees standing on high” (Dugdale 591).
