Etymology

Snowford Bridge and Snowford Hill. This is the snaw ford of KCD 705 (s. a. 1001), v. supra 133 n. It is Snowford 1776EnclA . The name is clearly a compound of OE  snāw , 'snow,' and ford, but it is impossible now to guess what incident gave rise to the name.
