Draycote is Draicote 1203 FF, Cur, 1327 SR, Draycote 1298, 1312FF et freq , B (o )urton Draicote 1335–7 Ipm, Dracote 1524SR .Ekwall (Namnstudier tilägnade Evald Lidén 65) suggests that the dræg here may have reference to the steep hill leading up to Draycote Hill and Draycote Hill Fm. v. cot(e).
