Lilly Holt is Lilly Ho (u )lt 1620SewersD , 1636 BedL, taking name from Lytleye 1251ElyCouch . This may have the same history as Lilly Wood and Lilly Plantation (PN Ess 396, 420) and derive from lȳtel , 'little' and (ge)hæg, 'enclosure,' but here the second element might also be ēg , as it lies right in the fen.
